Accumulators
Calmec
has produced both vertical and
horizontal accumulators. They are
available with both pneumatic and
electric movement of the traveling
sheave assembly. Some important
factors to consider in the design of an
accumulator are the size range of
product to be run, the amount of
accumulation required, the product
tension, and building size restrictions.
Taping Machines
Calmec has a few different styles of
taping machines for various
applications. Our Dual Eccentric
Taping Machine provides the application
of two tapes around a core of up to 4"
diameter simultaneously. The coils
can be up to 4" wide and 24" diameter.
Concentric Taping Heads and Longitudinal
Taping Units are also available to suit
customers requirements.

Wire Capstans
Wire Capstans are used in applications
where the requirements are to maintain constant tension on bare or coated wire
or cable of small diameters. The main capstan wheel maintains good product
contact and resists slipping. They can be made for single or multi-wire
applications. The units can be driven to pull or non-driven to brake.
They can be adjusted vertically and rotated around its centre to suit different
entry and exit heights.

Dancers
Our standard Dancers are vertically
positioned and suitable feedback for speed or torque regulation on accompanying
equipment, such as pay-offs and take-ups.
The units are air pressure regulated. Sheave styles, diameters, and shapes
are matched to the customer's requirements. Calmec can also produce
horizontal and pivoting arm style dancers to suit any requirements.

Roto-Splitters
To complement our
armoring line,
Calmec manufactures a Roto-Splitter. This is
used to split on the fly the outer armored
conduit without damaging the inner cable, while cutting to length at the same
time. The amount of exposed cable on each end is adjustable from 3" to 6".
The machine can handle up to 1" diameter armored cable and handle speeds of up
to 30 feet per minute.

Single Twist
Machines
Calmec has two size Single Twist Machines,
36" and 48". They apply a single twist of cable per revolution at
speeds of up to 800 RPM. They operate using synchronized dual DC or AC
motor configurations. The units are fully automatic and provide consistent
pitch and lay of product while providing even build up onto the reel. They
are combined with a multi-reel pay-off
to suit whatever number of wires are required.
