Shipped
out the doors is Calmec's latest Roll Stack
Machine for the plastics industry.
This
3-stack Roll Mill contains an initial set of
30" rolls followed by two sets of 24" rolls.
All rolls have servo controlled gap
adjustments with an ultra high resolution of
.01mm. The units also have a trip
mechanism that automatically raises the
rolls quickly should excess material come
between the rolls; thus preventing roll
damage. All roll drives have a closed
loop system and are driven using AC flux
vector drive controllers. A colour
operator interface provides the operator
with complete control of the machine,
with any adjustments permissible on the run,
and menus for repeat product sizes and
easier set-ups.

Calmec
has
produced it's latest model
Cater Puller,
the 411 Series
CAT-75-3000/27.
This
machine provides consistent drive through for
cable pulling applications. It
features an operator interface for direct
input of follower ratio required, in
convolutions per foot meaningful terms.
It's digital feed ratio control coupled with
modern AC vector drive technology ensures an
accurate and steady follower machine.
Newly designed 12 mm Linatrile belts provide
long life with excellent product contact.

Calmec
has
produced a Wide Belt Slitter for the belting
industry,
capable of slitting up to 3 meter wide
belts.
This
machine is capable of slitting belts up to
3/16" thick at angles of 90, 80, 75, and 60
degrees, with automatic changeover in
seconds. By entering the belt width,
the machine only slits that amount before
automatically returning home, thus improving
cycle times. Table mounted fans
provide an easy means of transferring any
width belt along the table top surface.
Pneumatic clamping along the whole belt
width ensures a consistent and straight
slitting operation.

Calmec
has added
to its CNC machining capabilities by
purchasing a new Gildemeister 520
lathe. This machine permits us to
improve our production times and ensure high
quality for such items as form rollers and
other high precision tooling. Designs
are automatically transferred from our CAD
department to our CAM program, where machine
code is automatically generated and
transferred to the machine in question,
whether it be mill or lathe work. This
process reduces programming time and results
in efficiently machined parts.

Calmec
has
produced it's latest Z-Cutter for the
belting industry, capable of cutting over 2
meter wide belts for continuous belt
applications.
This
fully-automatic machine cuts material up to
6 mm thick using 'Z' shaped cutters which
are indexed at a pre-defined distance through
the use of a servo drive, thus providing
fast and pin-point accurate cutter placement.
All the operator needs to do is input the
belt width to be cut. Optional
pneumatic material clamping is available, as
is variable start positioning. Cutter
punching is pneumatically activated and
contains fine depth adjustment.
